What is Sale Type?

If you haven't noticed already, the latest version of Tracker Suite has something new on the Sales screen: Sale Type.


This allows you to organize your deals into three pre-defined types - Finance/BHPH, Retail Cash, or Wholesale. In the past, people have used Group codes to keep track of their different types of sales. Now there is a special field for organizing sales into different types.

There are many ways to sell a vehicle, but all sales fall into one of three different categories:


  • Finance/BHPH. Like the name suggests, these are sales where the note is carried by either a finance company or the dealership itself.
  • Retail Cash. Simply put, cash sales.
  • Wholesale. This, of course, is for wholesale sales.
The new Sale Type field is special because it is a major part of the New Tracker program. The New Tracker will separate all sales into these three categories to make management of your sales much easier.

Now is a good time to get ready for the New Tracker by choosing a Sale Type for all your existing deals. When it comes time to update, you will be ahead of the game. Don't worry though, if you don't have time for all that work, there will be a separate conversion program to help you convert everything for the New Tracker.
