User Defined Fields
Have you ever wondered what the User tab in the Sales screen is actually used for? Because Tracker is designed for use nationwide, there had to be a way to accommodate a wide range of business needs. You can use the User Defined fields for whatever you want: keeping notes, charging fees, or any number of things that you want to keep track of.
Probably the most useful fields are the four fields on the bottom right of the screen. These four fields are used to add charges or fees to the sale that may be unique to your business. Maybe your state has a special tax or maybe you want to itemize miscellaneous charges. Here is an example:
A dealer needs to add a Tire Tax to all his deals.
- Go to the User tab and click on the Change Field Descriptions button.
- Change User Field 21 to "Tire Tax".
- Click on the Save button.
Now, the dealer has a place to add a Tire Tax to the deal.

Checking the "Include in Finance" box will add the fee to the amount financed and the "Taxable" box will charge sales tax to the amount.
