Sales, Lien & Total Profit
By now some of you may have noticed. If you create a deal that has a trade-in and the trade-in has a lien. Plus the trade allowance value is lower than value of the Lien. This will greatly affect your Total Profit margin. Also if you check the Washout screen, it may not reflect the true Total Profit value. By default in Sales, the default Total Profit formula does not does subtract the amount in the Trade Lien field from the Total Profit, which is displayed on the Washout screen. So we have to edit the default formula to get the correct value.
The following instructions will guide you through editing the default formula for Total Profit, if you need assistant please contact Technical Support at 1-800-543-8085.
1. Open "Add/Edit Sales"
2. Click "Add" button to create a new deal or you can "Edit" an existing deal
3. On the top menu bar Click on the word "Defaults"
4. Click on "Setup Field Calculations"
Example of the formula for Total Profit:
PRICE+ACV1+ACV2+INSPROFIT+WARRANTY+IIF(OUTFINCO,0.00,INTEREST)-
(COST+REPAIRS+TRADEIN+SCOMM1+SCOMM2+WARR_COST+DISCOUNT)
(Your formula may look different if you have modified this at a prior time)
6. To Edit the "Tot Profit" field, Click on the field to get a blinking curser. Use the right arrow key and move the curser to the right until you see-(COST+REPAIRS+TRADEIN+SCOMM1+SCOMM2+WARR_COST+DISCOUNT)"
7. After the word TRADEIN, add "+LIEN"
8. The formula should read something like this:

Click "OK" to save formula
10. If you are editing an existing deal, you will automatically see the change in the Total Profit field. Now Click on the "Save" button.
11. If you created a new deal to just edit the defaults formulas you can Click on the "Cancel" button and the change to the defaults formulas will be saved as well.
