Backing up your data is very important!


What would you do if you lost all your customer records? Imagine if you had no way to determine how much money your customers owed or what price you paid for the vehicles on your lot. Making a backup of your Tracker files is vital to your business and here are some tips to make it easier to do.

How to make a Tracker backup on floppy disk:
  1. Put a floppy disk in the drive
  2. Click on Utility > Backup/Restore
  3. Click on the option for Floppy Drive
  4. Click on the Backup button

Backup tips:
  • If you have a network it is advisable to make a backup from the server, but it is not necessary.
  • Floppy disks are cheap and can only be used a few times before they begin to become unreliable.
  • Use a secondary backup method like a tape drive, Zip disk, or CD-R.
  • Keep one set of backups for every day your business is open.
  • Tracker's backup utility does not save forms, reports, letters and pictures.
  • Backup disks can save your business, so store them in a safe place.
