Use of Autotrader.com From Within Tracker

What version of Tracker allows me to upload inventory to AutoTrader.com? Any version of Tracker Suite (recommended version 3.06 or higher).

What do I need to have in order to upload images to AutoTrader.com? The images need to be in digital format i.e. JPEG (jpg.). And cannot be any bigger than 190 by 240 pixels. AutoTrader.com will allow black and white images.

How do I resize my images to comply with AutoTrader.com's requirements? There are several software packages that easily allow you to resize images and convert their formats, along with tools to optimize your pictures. A good example is PaintShop Pro made by JASC (http:www.jasc.com). Some digital cameras and scanners come with software that you can use to adjust and change your digital images. (See your equipment documentation for any instructions.)

Now that I have my images resized how do I get the pictures in Tracker? The first thing you need to do is place all the images in the images folder in the Tracker directory (c:\program files\trk\IMAGES) In Inventory, pull up the car that you have the image for, and select the picture tab. On the picture tab, press the select button to select a picture that you took. Pick the correct image file and click on the open button. You should now see the image of the car on the picture window. Repeat this for all the pictures you have.

How do I send all my active inventory to AutoTrader.com? Bring up your Internet connection and make sure you are connected. From the main screen of Tracker on the right side you will see the SERVICES icon; click on it and below the icon there will be another icon that says: Upload Ads to AutoTrader.com. Click on it and a window will open up. Select "Upload all active vehicles" and select "Upload pictures to AutoTrader.com" if you are sending digital images and click next.

How do I send selected cars to AutoTrader.com? In INVENTORY pull up the vehicle to be uploaded, and on the EDIT page put a check in the box that says AutoTrader.com. Click on the PICTURE tab and make sure the picture is correct. Click on the SAVE button. Repeat this for all the vehicles you want to send to AutoTrader.com. Bring up your Internet connection and make sure you are connected. From the main screen of Tracker on the right side you will see the SERVICES icon; click on it and below the icon there will be another icon that says: Upload Ads to AutoTrader.com. Click on it and a window will open up. Select "Upload selected vehicles" and select "Upload pictures to AutoTrader.com" if you are sending digital images and click next.
