On Tracker is a weekly newsletter about being on Tracker.
Recapping the Situation -- In looking at alternatives for bringing our independent dealers a high level of service, not specifically customer & technical service, but every aspect of the business operation... there was clearly a need to close the Tracker business office in Orlando. In the process, we attempted to address some of the issues we thought were important to you in the use of the software. For instance, in the past, many calls to customer service were to obtain passwords to "unlock " your system--a-misplaced attempt to assure billing for the use of the software. This process tied up service lines and created ill-will. Complaints about aspects of Tracker's operations suggested that this and other issues could not be addressed piecemeal... Some dramatic changes needed to be made. From the feedback we received following our initial announcement, it appeared that most of you were pleased to have the software for free and appreciated the convenience of not having to "unlock" your system on a regular basis. At the same time, some of you were concerned about whether the product was functional and about your receiving support. The product is functional! Also, as a result of your input, we are committed to support the current version of the product through at least July 2003.
  • The Tracker Product is ALIVE.
  • We will continue to provide technical and customer service-including technical support and necessary "fixes"-until at least July 2003.
  • Our policy is that no new users will be accepted in to the Tracker system at this time.
  • Your ideas on how to resolve some issues within Tracker and ways we can incorporate what is best about the system in the future are welcome (please see note at bottom about joining a Tracker User Group.)
  • Future Product Development will be evaluated once we have more input from you and other dealers. To upgrade to the most current version of Tracker- please call 800-543-8085. This upgrade is free and you will no longer need to re-register the software.
  • Manheim's Auction based Technology Managers will also be servicing your needs, some will likely be dedicated to Tracker.
  • Tracker training schedules will soon be posted on the Tracker websites www.trackeronline.com and www.asktracker.com.
  • 3.092 Tracker CDs are available on request. Please call 800-543-8085 and allow 10 business days for delivery.
  • Your use of Tracker ancillary services, such as Credco and the warranty products, will not be affected.
